Wesley Maxey homered and
Joey Garcia scored a pair of runs, but it wasn't enough as Berry dropped the finale of a three-game baseball series to Pfeiffer Sunday afternoon, 13-6, at William R. Bowdoin Field.
Trailing 3-1 in the fourth, the Vikings went ahead when Maxey uncorked a three-run blast over the wall in right to flip the score in Berry's favor. The lead would prove to be short-lived, however, as the Falcons (1-2) came back with two runs in the fifth to regain the lead before putting eight on the board in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Berry had a mini-rally in the bottom of the seventh thanks to run-scoring hits by
Zachary Hardee and
Riley Uhls that made it 13-6.
Garcia's two runs in the contest gave him seven for the three-game set.
Berry is back in action Tuesday when it plays host to Maryville in Mt. Berry, Ga.
