The Berry College Vikings Women's Soccer team dominated the Millsaps Majors en route to a 2-0 victory Friday at Bob Pearson Field.
Off a
Nicole Knight corner kick in the 17th minute, the ball would bounce around inside the box before Senior midfielder
Kendall Varitek notched the contest's first goal to take an early lead and the Vikings would not look back after that.
From there, sophomore forward
Nicole Knight took over as she rattled off her team leading fifth goal in the 28th minute to add an insurance goal for the Vikings.
After this, the Vikings defense would finish off this contest, with all three keepers for the Vikings seeing action.
Maggie Jones would start the game for the Vikings before being relieved in the second half by
Avery Fowler and
Lily Osterkamp. They would get the combined clean sheet for Berry.
The match went back and forth in the second half; however, the Majors were unable to crack the Berry back line and the match would end in a 2-0 Vikings win, with Berry picking up their first conference win of the year.
The Vikings return to action Sunday as they host Birmingham Southern College for senior day at Bob Pearson Field.
