Bryce Clark had a double-double, four players scored in double figures, and Berry defeated Millsaps 64-59 Friday night in Jackson, Miss., in Southern Athletic Association men's basketball play.
The Vikings (11-2, 2-0) got 13 points and a career-high 11 rebounds from Clark in the victory. Reigning SAA Player of the Week
Chase Ellis also added 13 points, while
Owen Honroth and
Blake Campbell each scored 11 in the victory.
Berry led Millsaps 30-25 at the half, but the Majors (1-10, 0-2) came used a 10-2 run that started in the waning seconds of the first half to take a 33-32 lead. That would be the last lead of the game for Millsaps as BC answered back to build the lead up as high as 14, 59-45.
From there, Berry would make the necessary free-throws down the stretch to get the win, with the final seven points for the Vikings coming from the charity stripe.
The Vikings out-rebounded Millsaps 41-31, with 15 of BC's boards coming on the offensive side. Berry had 10 assists as a team, with
Riley Costas dishing out a game-high four.
Berry will be back in action Sunday at Birmingham-Southern to complete the SAA road trip. Tipoff in Birmingham, Ala., is set for 4 p.m.
