MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Berry men's soccer battled the Transylvania Pioneers at Bob Pearson Field Saturday morning. After eight shots on goal and 13 shots total, the Vikings drew 0-0 against the Pioneers.
The scoreless game had many standout plays lead by
Nathan Carlson and
Henry Asbill with two shots on goal each, and
Jacob Antoine and
Bear Crystal with one each.
"We had more than enough moments that could have been the difference but at times we lacked a bit of quality and a bit of luck," said the Vikings' head coach
Richard Vardy.
The battle continued with eleven corners from the Vikings and four from the Pioneers, followed by four yellow cards given to Transylvania and one to Berry.
Despite being 0-0, the Vikings led had the majority of the possesion and also had four saves by goalkeeper
Lukas Haritos. "Today's performance had a lot of positives but overall, we are very frustrated not to get the win," said Vardy.
Berry will be back home against Covenant College on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
