MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - After a successful trip to California to begin the season, Berry's men's soccer team will open up the 2022 home slate Saturday at noon against Transylvania.
The Vikings earned a 2-1 win over Occidental Labor Day for their first win of the season. Two days prior, Berry played to a scoreless draw with La Verne.
Berry and Transylvania have played three times since the Vikings program went to the Division III level. Both teams have earned a win in the series, with a draw included to make the all-time record for both teams 1-1-1 against each other. The three results also mirror each other; Berry's win came in 2014 by a 2-0 score, with Transylvania winning by the same margin in 2017. The two sides played a scoreless draw in 2015.
Saturday's contest starts a three-match homestand for the Vikings. Berry will be back at Bob Pearson Field this Tuesday to face Covenant before returning to host Maryville Friday.
