Rome, Ga. – The Berry College men's lacrosse team hosted the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels on Saturday afternoon to open conference play. The Vikings dominated from start to finish and topped the Petrels 11-1.
The Vikings scored first, followed by a straight shot for goal from
Jackson Blaylock, and connected with six more goals before Oglethorpe scored their one and only right before the half.
Oglethorpe's goalie was a monster for the Petrels, tallying 24 saves, but the Vikings aggressive offense did what was needed to secure the win.
Davis Cooke led the Vikings with two goals on six shot on goals.
Nick English went 13-16 on faceoffs, scoring one goal and connecting on one assist.
David Gottesman got the start at goalie for Berry, tallying one save.
RJ Maraski came in for Gottesman and recorded eight saves.
Henry Tynes also got some action at goalie for the Vikings.
Berry is back in action this weekend for another conference showdown at Centre on Saturday.
