ROME, Ga. — Due to cancellations surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, the Berry softball team held an impromptu senior day recognition for seniors Madison Morgan and Makenzie Flynt prior to Berry securing a doubleheader sweep over visiting Hiram College.

Berry also honored Hiram's lone senior and senior Berry track & field student-athlete Genesis Leggett. 

With the pair of victories, No. 17 Berry improved to 12-2 on the year with back-to-back 6-0 wins. Lauren Baccari earned the win in the opening game, improving her record to 4-1 with 7.0 shutout innings. Madison Hollis also tossed 7.0 shutout frames, fanning nine hitters to improve to 6-0. 

Bayleigh Masterson got things started in game one, putting Berry ahead in the first inning with a two-RBI single. Both teams were held scoreless until the sixth inning when Berry plated four off the bats of Hollis, Baccari and Morgan. 

The Vikings bats were held in check in game two until the team scored three in the fourth and fifth innings. Brooke Whittemore opened scoring with a two-RBI home run in the fourth. Madison Morgan added on with an RBI single. Whittemore then hit her second home run in the fifth inning to put the game away.
