Box Score ROME, Ga. — The No. 7 Berry College volleyball team earned a 3-2 win over Sewanee at home on Saturday afternoon, improving to 12-3 overall and 3-1 in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play. Sewanee fell to 9-5 and 2-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both teams were slow out of the gate, with Berry hitting .103 in the opening set with the Tigers mustering a .067 kill percentage. Sewanee earned the opening set 25-21.
- Berry's middle blockers propelled the momentum the rest of the way, as the Vikings won set two 25-22 and set three 25-16. The combination of Carson VanCampen and Sam Heard combined for 31 kills. Heard's 15 was a career-high.
- The Tigers won the fourth to force five sets, but the Vikings won by a close margin of 15-13.
- Molly Bergin had 13 kills on the day, which was also a career-best for the freshman.
