Box Score 3 ATLANTA — The Berry College volleyball team picked up a pair of wins and fell only to the host Emory Eagles over the weekend at the Emory National Invitational.
The Vikings claimed a 3-0 victory over Washington & Lee on Friday before a straight-set defeat to Emory University. The team closed the tournament with a 3-1 win over Randolph Macon this morning.
Berry played well against Washington & Lee, hitting .214 with eight service aces to secure the win. The Vikings fought hard in the opening set against the Eagles, dropping 25-23, but Emory seized momentum on the team's senior day and hit .333 en route to a victory. Laura Beier set a program record with 45 digs in a four set match against Randolph Macon today, helping the Vikings to a win. Beier also earned All-Tournament honors.
The team will open SAA tournament play on Friday at Birmingham-Southern.
