CONWAY, Ark. — Andrew Elgin tallied five times and passed one assist, as the Berry College men's lacrosse team bested Hendrix College 17-2 in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) matchup on Sunday afternoon.
Elgin's five goals led all-scorers in the contest, as the Vikings improved to 7-3 overall on the year, as well as 1-1 in conference play. Luke Koferl and McKinley Gannon each scored three goals in the contest as well, and five other Vikings added at least one goal in the victory as well.
Berry scored early and often in the win, tallying five times in each of the first three quarters to ensure the 17-2 win. Kevin Murphy earned the win in goal for the Vikings, collecting five saves in 43:48 minutes of work.
On the day, Berry also led the contest in shots (48-17), ground balls (39-28) and faceoffs (17-5). The Vikings also forced 21 turnovers to their 18 in the matchup.
