CHARLOTTE, N.C. – McKinley Gannon added three goals and three assists for the Vikings, but a strong second half led Colorado College over the Berry College men's lacrosse team 11-8 on Sunday.
Berry jumped out to an early lead, tallying twice within the first quarter to lead 2-1 after the first 15 minutes of play. Colorado College responded, scoring five goals in the second quarter to tie the game at 6-6 going into halftime. The Vikings' Matthew Tatum and Gannon then opened second half play with back-to-back goals to give Berry an 8-6 lead; however, Colorado College rallied for the final five tallies of the game, ensuring the 11-8 victory.
Berry led the contest in shots (42-38), ground balls (30-23) and clears (25-18). The Vikings also forced 23 Colorado College turnovers to their 18, falling to 1-2 on the year with the loss.
