Box Score 2 MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The No. 1 Berry Vikings softball team cruised past Wesleyan College on Wednesday afternoon in a double-header victory, winning both games by run-rule. Game scores were 15-2 and 14-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME ONE):
- Berry opened the game strong, plating nine runs in the bottom of the first on six hits.
- The Vikings added another run in the bottom half of the second after a Kayla Sangrey double.
- Wesleyan scored their lone two runs in the third inning, with Berry holding them scoreless the rest of the game.
- Berry added three runs in the bottom of the third inning, with Brittany Ferrell and Lauren Evans hitting back-to-back doubles for a pair of RBI's.
- Sarah Moore and Brittany Tuttle singled in the bottom of the fourth, scoring two more to seal the run-rule victory 15-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME TWO):
- Berry continued the offense into the second game, bringing four Vikings around the bases in the first inning to open the game 4-0.
- The Vikings then scored six runs in the second inning, with Katlin Seger's grand slam moving the game to 10-0.
- The Vikings rounded out the game with two runs in each the third and fourth innings, with hits from Makayley Cain and Lauren Evans to give Berry the 14-0 final.
- Whitney Gribble and Kassie Howard combined for a no-hitter in the game, striking out three.
