Vikings Fall to Centre in SAA Men's Lacrosse Semifinals

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Berry College men's lacrosse team lost to Centre College, 9-6, in a Southern Athletic Association semifinal match on Friday night.

The Vikings end their season with an 8-9 record. The Colonels improved to 11-4 and will face Sewanee on Sunday in the SAA Championship game.

Nick Voso collected 15 saves in his final collegiate contest. Quentin Johnson led the Berry offense with one goal and one assist.

Also tallying goals for the Vikings were Jake Emche, Jason Wilhelm, Stephen Galloway, Chris Berchock and Christian Akers.

Centre led 3-0 to start the game before the Vikings responded with the next four goals. CC held a slight 6-5 edge at halftime.

The Colonels had the edge in shots (43-35) and ground balls (33-24). The Vikings, however, led in faceoffs, 12-7. Josh Baker took all of Berry's draws in the match.

Conor Bennet notched two goals and had one helper to lead Centre.
