Men's Lacrosse Holds Off BSC, 12-10

ROME, Ga. -- Quentin Johnson scored four goals and passed two assists as Berry College defeated Birmingham-Southern, 12-10, on Sunday afternoon.

The Vikings improved to 7-8 and 4-3 in Southern Athletic Association action. The Panthers fell to 11-4 and 4-3.

BC, however, earned the third seed to the SAA Tournament, which begins next Saturday. The Vikings will host #6 Hendrix.

Berry got off to a hot start and held a 7-0 lead in the contest. BSC trimmed the halftime deficit to 8-2. The visitors trailed 11-3 after three periods before mounting a furious fourth quarter rally. The Panthers outscored Berry, 7-1, in the final 15 minutes.

Aided by a big 17-4 edge in shots in the final period, BSC led the game in shots, 37-29. Berry had the edge in faceoffs, 14-11.

Bailey Martin tallied three times for the Vikings. Teammate Hudson Harris scored once and dished two assists. Nick Voso recorded eight saves for BC.

For the Panthers, Evan Lalande had two goals and one assist. BSC earned the fourth seed to the SAA Tournament and will host Rhodes--which also has a 4-3 conference mark.
