Men's Lacrosse Edged at Rhodes, 9-8

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Jason Wilhelm scored four goals, but the Berry College men's lacrosse team lost at Rhodes College, 9-8, on Easter Sunday.

The Vikings dropped to 5-7 and 2-2 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Lynx moved to 10-2 and 3-1 in the SAA.

Rhodes held a 4-1 lead after the first quarter. Berry, however, rallied and the game was 5-5 at halftime.

Trailing 9-8 in the final seconds, BC had a chance to tie the game. Cameron Link, however, saved Bailey Martin's shot with two seconds left in the game.

Rhodes had the edge in shots (39-21) and ground balls (29-26). Berry led in faceoffs, 13-7. Viking Don McIlwain won 11 of his 17 draws.

Nick Voso stopped 13 Lynx shots. Justin Westbrook scored twice and had one assist. Jake Emche contributed three assists for Berry.

For Rhodes, Ryan Fennelly netted four goals and dished one assist.

The Vikings play at Sewanee this Saturday.
