BC Men's Lacrosse Wins Big at Oglethorpe

ATLANTA – Andrew Elgin and Koda-Wataka Robinson contributed hat tricks as the Berry College men's lacrosse team defeated Oglethorpe University, 18-1, to open up conference play on Wednesday night.

The win improved the Vikings to 3-3 overall, as well as 1-0 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Stormy Petrels fell to 0-5 and 0-1.

Elgin also passed two assists in the contest and led the Vikings with five points. Stephen Galloway added two goals and one assist in the win as well.

Ten other Berry players found the back of the net in the match-up, and four Vikes tossed assists in the win also.

The Vikings blanked the Stormy Petrels for the first three quarters and allowed OU's only goal of the game in the last five minutes of play.

Nick Voso earned the win in goal for Berry. He recorded four saves in his first half shutout. Zack McConnell finished the game in goal, collecting three saves and allowing one goal.

The Vikings led the game in shots (39-11), ground balls (46-17) and won 19 of the 23 faceoffs.

Lane Edwards took the loss in goal for OU. He collected ten saves on the night.

The Vikings travel to Lexington, Kentucky to play Transylvania in their next game on Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m.
