BC Women's Lacrosse Nipped by Sewanee, 10-9

ROME, Ga. -- Savannah Robar recorded five points, but the Berry College women's lacrosse team lost to visiting Sewanee, 10-9, on Saturday.

The Vikings fell to 6-4 and 1-1 in Southern Athletic Association play. The Tigers moved to 4-6, 2-2.

Robar netted two goals and dished three assists for the Vikings, which held a 5-4 lead at halftime.

Kelsey McAnnally added two goals and one assist for the home team. Lizzy Jones also scored two times for BC.

Berry trailed 10-7, but goals from Keiley Ayers and Clara Bissell cut the margin to 10-9. No team scored in the final 6:54.

Sewanee led in shots (25-15) and draw controls (14-7). The Vikings had the edge in ground balls, 19-16.

Berry goalkeeper Ella Makin recorded seven saves in the loss.

Kelly Ring tallied five goals and passed one assist for Sewanee. 

The Vikings play at Piedmont College next Friday.
