Box Score LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Berry College won at Covenant College, 3-2, on Tuesday afternoon. The Vikings improved to 16-6 and the Scots fell to 10-11.
The game was tied until Ben Jernigan's RBI single that made it 2-1 in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning Covenant tied it at 2-2.
In the ninth, Berry's Hunter White led off with a single and his pinch-runner Leo Narrison later scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch. Covenant was set down in order in its half of the ninth by Berry reliever JP Chamblee.
The visiting Vikings used six pitchers to get the victory. Chamblee (2-0) picks up his second win of the year after tossing two scoreless innings.
White, Jernigan and Devin Skelton all had two hits for the Vikings.
Z. Arima led Covenant going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Alec Mitchell (2-2) got the loss in relief after throwing the final two innings.
Berry returns to Southern Athletic Association play at Centre College this weekend.
