SEWANEE, Tenn.— Christina Goforth had 15 kills as Berry College volleyball beat Sewanee, 3-0, on Sunday. The set scores were 29-27, 29-27 and 25-19.
The Vikings improved to 13-3 and 4-1 in Southern Athletic Association play. The Tigers fell to 9-5 and 2-3 in the SAA.
Berry hit .197 to Sewanee's 174. The Vikes led in blocks, 10-3.
Katie O'Rourke and Jessica Gum had nine kills each. Lauren Schmitz had a total of 40 assists during the match. Katie Truluck led the team in defense with 23 digs. O'Rourke recorded a match-high four blocks.
For Sewanee, Diamond Stewart had 16 kills.
"Sewanee played great defense and made us work for the win today," said Berry Head Coach Mika Robinson. "We are excited to finish our long month of travel with another win, and we are looking forward to playing a lot more games in the Cage in October."
The Vikings--winners of five straight matches--host Hendrix on Saturday at 3 p.m.
