BC men's lacrosse loses first game of the season, 13-10, to Augustana

ROME, Ga. -- Christian Akers and Cory Hall scored 3 goals apiece, but the Berry College men's lacrosse team dropped their first game of the season to Augustana College, 13-10.

The loss dropped the Vikings to 3-1. The win improved Augustana to 2-2.

For Augustana, Jared Hawkins scored 5 goals and dished out 3 assists in the win.

Although Augustana held a 7-3 halftime lead, the Vikings outscored the visiting team, 7-6, in the second half.

Four other BC Vikings added a goal in the win: Paolo Falzi, Grant Phillips, Patrick Towner, and Matt Bentley.

Duncan Tilka started the game in the goal and took the loss. He made a save and allowed 6 goals. Nick Voso then went in as goalkeeper and made 3 saves for the Vikes.

The Vikings had the edge in shots (29-28), ground balls (45-29) and face-offs (18-7).

BC will take on Colorado College in their next game in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Sunday, March 8.
