Berry College wins at Piedmont, 12-5

DEMOREST, Ga. - - Three Vikings scored twice as the Berry College men's lacrosse team defeated Piedmont College, 12-5, on Tuesday afternoon.

The win improved the Vikings to 5-4. The loss dropped the Lions to 3-8.

Jake Emche, Matt Dominguez, and Christian Akers each scored 2 goals in the win. Dominguez also passed an assist for the Vikings.

BC took an early, 6-1, lead at halftime. The Vikings then continued to put pressure on the Piedmont defense, adding 6 more goals in the second half.

Six other Vikes scored a goal in the victory: Cory Hall, Miller Hollstein, Clayton McGlasson, Maxwell Smerka, Matt Bentley, and Grant Phillips.

The Vikings led the Lions in almost every offense category including shots (38-37), ground balls (41-23), and face-offs (14-6).

Nick Voso got the win in the goal for the Vikings. Voso allowed only 2 goals, savings 11 shots in the process.

Berry will take on Rhodes College in their next game at home on Friday, March 27, at 4 p.m.
