Big second half leads women's lacrosse to seventh straight win

ROME, Ga. -- Berry College scored the first seven goals of the second half en route to a 13-6 win over Birmingham-Southern College on Saturday.

The victory was the seventh straight for Berry, which improved to 7-1 and 2-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. BSC dropped to 0-6 and 0-2 in the SAA.

Berry led 6-5 at halftime, but erupted for the first seven tallies of the final period to prevail. Claire Rosenberg led the BC offense with 3 goals and 4 assists.

Kelsey McAnnally added 3 goals and dished 2 assists for the Vikes. Clara Bissell and Kim Fischer both netted 2 goals for BC.

The Vikings had the edge in shots (34-10) and ground balls (8-5). The visitors led in draw controls, 12-9.

Chloe Massoni had 13 saves in the defeat for the Panthers. For Berry, Tori Alexander made 6 saves and earned the win. Casey Born had 2 saves against one goal in the final 7:10 for the home team.

The Vikings face DePauw on Wednesday, March 25th at Sewanee.
