Centre Advances Over Men's Soccer in SAA Quarterfinals

ROME, Ga. -- Tied 1-1 after a full 110 minutes, the Berry College men's soccer was deadlocked with Centre College after two overtime periods. Penalty kicks decided who would advance to the SAA tournament and the visiting Colonels prevailed, 4-1.

The match goes in the books as a tie and the Vikes' season ends with a record of 8-6-3. The Colonels head to the the SAA semifinals with an overall record of 7-8-2. 
Steven Moore scored the first goal of the game in the 23rd minute. Volleying a cross from Anu Campbell, Moore's tally put BC ahead, 1-0. 

The Vikes were still ahead, 1-0, at the end of the first half. 

Centre's Alexander Garuba then tied the game up in the 50th minute. The unassisted goal evened the game, 1-1. 

After neither team scored for the remainder of the regulation period, the game moved to overtime. Following two scoreless OT periods, PKs decided the outcome. 

The Colonels capitalized on their penalty kicks, finding the back of the net on each one. PKs from Jacob Trumbull, Noah Wesley-Chevalier, Connor Reed and Harrison Dunn gave Centre the 4-1 edge on PKs. 

Enrique Garcia was the only Viking to score on his PK. Bailey Spade saved two of BC's attempts. 

Zachary Wroblewski took the loss in goal, collecting five saves in his 110 minutes of work. 

Berry had the edge in shots (15-14) and corner kicks (7-5).
