CONWAY, Ark. - - With goals from Mackenzie Tittle, Daniel Shaw and Steven Moore, the Berry College men's soccer team shutout Hendrix College, 3-0, on Friday afternoon.
The win improved the Vikings to 5-5-2 overall and 2-2 in the Southern Athletic Association. The loss dropped the Warriors to 2-8-3 and 1-3-1. Daniel Shaw opened the BC scoring in the thirty-fifth minute. His unassisted tally put the Vikings ahead, 1-0.
Closing out the first half, Steven Moore tallied in the forty-third minute. Assisted by Alec Jones, Moore's goal moved the score to, 2-0.
Mackenzie Tittle then finished off the Berry offensive effort in the eight-ninth minute. Finding the back of the net on a pass from Milton Tama, Tittle finished the Vikings', 3-0, victory.
BC led the game in shots (23-8) and corner kicks (9-1).
For Hendrix, Jerry Thomeczek took the loss in the net, adding six saves in his ninety minutes of work.
Zachary Wroblewski earned the complete-game shutout in goal for the Vikes, collecting three saves in the win.
Berry travels to Memphis, Tennessee, to take on Rhodes College in their next SAA match on Sunday, Oct. 18. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
