Berry Volleyball Shuts Out Centre, 3-0

ROME, Ga. -- The Berry College volleyball team defeated Centre College, 3-0, at the Cage Center on Sunday. Set scores were 25-22, 25-17, 25-15.

The Vikings improved to 16-5 and 6-3 in Southern Athletic Association play. The Colonels fell to 10-10 and 6-4 in conference.

Lauren Schmitz and Jessica Gum had eight kills each. Katie Truluck recorded 20 digs and Schmitz passed 26 assists for the Vikings.

For the match, Berry hit .257 to Centre's .111. The Vikings also led in blocks, 13-5.

Beth Cecil led Centre with 11 kills.

"We felt like we played a really complete game today," said Berry Head Coach Mika Robinson. "Credit Centre for making us work hard defensively, but I was proud of how patient we stayed one offense."

Berry plays Hendrix away on Friday, at 7 p.m.
