Box Score 2 NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Berry College closed play at the CNU Tournament with 3-0 wins over William Peace and Johns Hopkins.
Against William Peace, BC snapped a seven match losing streak after the 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-23) victory.
Emily Stromberg (10) was the only player in double-digits for kills in the match. Berry (3-8) outhit the Pacers, .253 to .135 in the contest. Katie Truluck served five aces and Lauren Schmitz dished 21 assists for the Vikings.
Maddie Irvin collected 15 digs for Peace, which dropped to 3-4.
The Vikings made it two straight with a sweep of Hopkins (25-19, 25-18, 25-16). Anna Keappler posted a match-best 11 kills for the Vikings, which out-hit the Blue Jays .237 to .110. Stromberg and Truluck each collected 12 digs in the match. JHU fell to 3-8 after the loss.
"I thought we played with a lot more composure and confidence today, and as a result our physical game was significantly better," said Berry Head Coach Mika Robinson. "We are looking forward to starting conference play this week."
The Vikings open SAA play at Oglethorpe on Wednesday.
