ROME, Ga. - - The Berry College women's volleyball team lost to Hendrix College, 3-0, in the Cage Center. Set scores were 25-27, 13-25, and 22-25.

The loss dropped the Vikings to 13-11 overall and 8-3 in Southern Athletic Association play. BC had won three straight matches. The Warriors improved to 22-4 and 9-2.

"We had an incredible crowd tonight, and we were so appreciative of their support all the way through the match" said Head Coach Mika Robinson. "Hendrix did a great job of slowing down our offense. We will regroup and come out strong tomorrow."

After falling behind 20-23 in the first set, BC rallied back with four straight points to go ahead 24-23. Their rally was led by the strong serving arm of Emily Stromberg. Although they put up a tough fight, they still lost the battle, 27-25, on two consecutive kills from Hendrix's Lauren Petrisin. Unfortunately, the Vikings could not regain the momentum and lost the following sets as well.

Stromberg and Anna Keappler led Berry on both offense and defense with seven kills each. Keappler added 14 and Stromberg had ten digs. Lauren Schmitz had 23 assists for the home team.

For the Warriors, Sara Dyslin had a match-high 13 kills on the night and Grace Griffin recorded six blocks (two solo).

The Vikings look to pick up a win as they honor their seniors at Senior Day on Saturday, October 18 at 4 p.m. at the Cage Center.
