DANVILLE, Ky. – Cory Hall had five goals but Berry College men's lacrosse lost a Southern Athletic Association match at Centre, 16-14, on Saturday.

The Vikings dropped to 6-4 and 1-1. The Colonels improved to 4-2, 1-1.

The visiting Vikes led 4-1 after one period, and 8-5 at the half. The game was tied after three quarters, and Centre outscored BC 5-3 in the last 15 minutes to prevail.

Berry led in shots, 45-36, but the home team had the edge in ground balls at 33-27. The Colonels took 19 of the game's 32 faceoffs.

Kyle Lombardi tallied three times for BC and Blake Gwizdalski dished a game-best three assists. Jordan Broeman had two saves and took the loss in goal.

"We had a phenomenal quarter and a half, but could not keep it rolling," said Berry Head Coach Chris Delfausse. "They made a good run at us, and we lost our composure a bit in the second half. Centre also won the ground ball battle, which led to second chance points for them."

Zack Connors notched a game high seven points on 5 goals and two assists for Centre.

Berry returns to action on Friday, March 29 when Rhodes visits for a 4 p.m. faceoff at Ford Field.
