Box Score 2 SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Berry College Softball Team took two more games from Sewanee on Sunday. The Vikings won game one, 8-0, and took the nightcap, 17-0.
Berry improved to 14-6, and 6-2 in the SAA. Sewanee fell to 3-5, 0-4. Berry did not allow a run in the four-game series, all of which were shortened to five innings.
In game one, a five-run fourth inning propelled the visitors to 8-0 win. GC knocked 10 hits in the contest. Abby Daniels went 2-4 with two runs and two RBI. Shelby Smith was 2-3 and scored twice and Kristen Stoll was 3-3 with a run and three RBI.
Starter Natalie Boyd (4-2) allowed one hit, a single in the third, and pitched all five frames. She struck six Tigers and allowed on walks.
Allison Coronado (3-2) tossed a two-hit shutout in the nightcap. The freshman struck out one and walked one in the 17-0 result. Coronado helped her cause by going 3-4 with three runs and two RBI at the plate.
Berry collected 16 hits in the contest. Lacey Herring went 3-4 with a double, three runs and two RBI. Lindsey Campbell was 3-4 with a home run and four RBI.
Millsaps visits Berry on Saturday and Sunday for four SAA games.
