SEWANEE, Tenn. – After opening conference play with a victory on Wednesday at Oglethorpe, Berry (8-2) continued its road trip success as the team defeated Sewanee (3-3) in three sets at the Fowler Center. Scores were 25-13, 25-19 and 25-23.
Junior Stephanie Quinn dished out 38 assists and also had nine digs and six kills. Senior Jenn Tinnell recorded 13 digs while freshman Emily Stromberg totaled 13 kills and nine digs.
"We were really efficient with the ball in the first set. In sets two and three, credit Sewanee for some solid blocking and forcing our hitters to try to do too much," said Berry head coach Mika Robinson. "This was a solid conference win on the road, and we will take away some valuable lessons."
Berry will return to action on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Southern Athletic Association foe Centre in Danville, Ky.
