Berry's baseball team dropped a pair of games in Southern California Friday, falling to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 9-8 in 15 innings and 7-0 at the hands of Redlands.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps scored the winning run after a passed ball led to errant throw back to Berry pitcher Levi Austin, who was covering home plate.

Berry forced extra innings by rallying from a 6-2 deficit earlier in the game.

Thomas Johnson led the Vikings at the plate with a 4-for-7 performance and four runs batted in. Cason Dremann had three hits and Stephen Gaylor and Preston Neely had two apiece.

Johnathan Stump drove in three runs for the Vikings.

Austin, the fourth Berry pitcher to appear in the contest was tagged with the loss. He allowed one unearned run in two and two-thirds innings.

Cameron Rich started for Berry, allowing six runs, only two of which were earned, in four and one-third innings.

Michael Gwinn tossed two and two-thirds innings and Josh Dilbeck allowed two unearned runs on four hits in five innings of work.

In the game against Redlands, Berry was held to just two hits by Redlands pitcher Adam Byrd. The Vikings first hit didn't come until TC Boyd led off the fifth inning with a single to left field.

Gaylor singled to center in the sixth.

The only other base runner the Vikings had in the game came when Johnson drew a walk in the first inning.

The game was stopped after six innings because of darkness.

Chase Tucker drove in three runs and went 2-for-4, and Alex Scheiwe collected three hits for Redlands.

Byrd struck out two batters in the complete-game victory.

Berry's Casey Gray took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in four innings of work. He gave up seven hits.
