Chelsea Usher and Kristen Stoll drove in two runs apiece and Caillee Shamoun struck out eight in a complete-game effort as Berry defeated Alabama A&M 11-8 Sunday in Birmingham. Birmingham-Southern defeated Berry 4-3 later in the day.
Berry used a five-run first inning to jump out to a 5-1 lead in the first game, but AlAbama A&M would pull to within a run with two runs in the third and another in the fourth. Stoll, who stole home as a part of a double steal in the first inning, drove in two runs in the bottom of the fourth with a one-out single to left field that pushed home Blaze Wilson and Jessica Washington and gave the Vikings a 7-4 cushion.
Berry would have another big inning in the fifth, putting four more runs on the scoreboard to go up 11-4. Sara Vigue took advantage of a sleeping A&M defense after Washington walked, darting home from third base and giving Berry its second steal of home in the game. Usher followed with a two-run triple that scored Wilson and Washington, and latered scored on a wild pitch.
Alabama A&M's four seventh-inning runs were not enough.
Stoll collected two of the Vikings' eight hits in the game. Aleman drew four walks.
Riley and Fayesha Ward each had two hits and drove in two runs for Alabama A&M.
Shamoun fanned eight batters without allowing a walk in seven innings. She allowed eight hits and five earned runs.

In Berry's second game of the day, Birmingham-Southern's Chelsea Fernandez delivered an RBI double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Panthers the victory.
The Vikings (5-5) trailed 1-0 before erupting for three runs in the top of the fourth inning. After the first two batters of the inning were retired, Vigue and Jodie Tatum delivered back-to-back singles, setting the table for Krista Woody, who drove the two runners in with a triple to centerfield.
The next batter, rightfielder Blaze Wilson, then pushed Woody home with an infield single.
But Berry would surrender two runs in the bottom of the fourth, allowing the Panthers to tie the score 3-3. That score would stand until Fernandez's seventh-inning double.
Vigue and Wilson had two his apiece to lead Berry.
