Berry Splits Pair of Matches Saturday

Berry split a pair of volleyball matches on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to host Centre in four sets before earning a sweep of Fisk in Danville, Ky.

In the 22-25, 12-25, 21-25, 19-25 loss to Centre in the day's opening match, Sarah Steffan slammed a team high 13 kills, while also collecting 10 digs and a pair of service aces.  Steffan hit .303 in the match, recording just three attacking errors on 33 swings.

Berry setter Stephanie Quinn passed for 33 assists against Centre.  She also tallied 14 digs, four kills and three blocks.  Kristin Hargrove recorded 18 digs.

The Vikings defeated Fisk 25-12, 25-15, 25-17.  Quinn dished out 17 assists, to go with five digs and five service aces, while Steffan finished with five kills, Hargrove added 11 digs and four service aces and Krista Miller added five digs and two service aces.

Berry improved to 11-11 overall with the win over Fisk.  The Vikings are scheduled to return to action Tuesday, when they host Piedmont at 7 p.m.
