ATLANTA — Berry's Carson VanCampen led the No. 25 Vikings to a 2-1 opening weekend of play, earning the first Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Offensive Player of the Week honor of the year.
The Vikings' weekend included a reverse-sweep of No. 10 Washington University. Overall, VanCampen finished with a league-best .426 hitting percentage. She added 37 kills (3.08 Kills/Set) in just three matches. Against the No. 10 Bears, the junior middle blocker added 11 kills on 20 attempts and hit an impressive .400. In addition to her superb offense, the middle blocker totaled 10 blocks for Berry.
Berry is back in action on Friday, Sept. 7 against Whitworth at the Emory Tournament.
