Berry Athletics Announces Details for Mountain Day Contests

ROME, Ga. — With several thousand students, alumni and guests expected to attend Berry College Mountain Day, the Berry Athletics department has announced several details for tomorrow's volleyball and football contests.

PARKING:

Please be advised that parking will be extremely limited around campus on Saturday. For those attending athletic events around the Cage Center, parking is available in the Cage Center, Moon Building or Krannert Center parking lots. Overflow parking is available behind Hermann Hall, McAllister Hall and Evans Halls.

For those planning on attending festivities on Berry's Mountain Campus prior to tomorrow's volleyball and football contests, you may be directed to park in the field adjacent to Hermann Hall when leaving Mountain Campus. Please follow the direction of Berry's campus safety officers.

Maple Drive, located in front of Valhalla Stadium, will be closed Saturday morning due to pedestrian traffic around the stadium entrance and tailgating areas. For additional information on tailgating areas and policies, visit www.berrygameday.com.  

For those attending athletic events around the Ford Complex, parking is available in the East Mary lower lot and Ford Auditorium lots but be advised that it will be limited due to the number of events taking place around the Ford Complex mid-afternoon as well as on-campus residential parking. Carpooling is encouraged or attendees may elect to walk from the Hermann Hall or Krannert Center parking locations.

VOLLEYBALL:

The Berry College volleyball team will host Sewanee at 2:00 p.m. in the Cage Center for a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) matchup. Admission is free and concessions will be available.

The Vikings plan to welcome back many of their alumni during the match. Be sure to come support the Vikings following the Grand March.

FOOTBALL:

With a near record-setting number of fans expected for tomorrow night's Berry football contest, fans are encouraged to arrive early. Gates open following the Viking Walk at 4:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale at the gate at 4:00 p.m. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.

Temporary bleachers have been added on the south end (nearest the scoreboard) of the home and visiting grandstands and are available for overflow seating. Once seats fill up, standing-room-only will be available around the stadium. 

Prior to the football game, stop by Viking Village at 3:30 p.m. to enjoy lawn games and check out spirit items (both free and for purchase). Guests may elect to set up their own tailgating area in designated areas around the stadium. The Berry Alumni Choir will perform the National Anthem prior to kickoff. The Berry Drumline is set to perform at halftime.
