Volleyball Splits Day One at Colorado Classic

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Berry College volleyball team opened the 2017 season with a split at the Colorado College Classic on Friday, falling to Whittier 3-1 before defeating Augustana (S.D.) 3-0.

Berry's offense started slow against a strong Whittier squad, hitting just .185 in the opening match. Micayla Bedoian and Emily Hancock led the team with 10 and 12 kills, respectively. Elizabeth Ragland notched 23 digs in the contest, anchoring the back line. 

Against Augustana, Berry hit .278 as a team and recorded 23 total blocks en route to the shutout win. Hancock continued her strong day with 10 kills and a .250 attack percentage.
