2010:  As a freshman, led the Vikings with 350 kills and 2.94 kills per set…played in 119 sets…recorded a .193 (350-174-914) attack percentage…fourth on the team with 42 service aces…220 digs and 1.95 digs per set were fourth best figures on the team…four block solos, 18 block assists, 22 total blocks were all fourth highest total by a Viking in 2010…recorded 19 double figure kill matches, including a career high 23 kills in a four-set win over Shorter on Oct. 20…also racked up 12 digs in that Shorter match…recorded 21 kills in a four-set victory over Maryville on Oct. 1…seven double-doubles (kills/digs) in 2010…set career highs with 13 digs in back-to-back matches against Piedmont and Birmingham-Southern on the same day (Sept. 4) in Birmingham.

High School: Graduated from Ponte Vedra High School in Ponte Vedra, Fla... Named one of the top 24 players in North Florida by Ultimate High School Sports Guide... helped lead her high school teams to a pair of state tournament semifinal appearances, and twice earned All-County and All-Area honors... A two-time team captain who won her squad’s Highest Kills Award twice in her career, also led her Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Academy club team in kills in the USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Big South Club National Qualifiers.

Personal: Sarah Steffan was born January 9, 1992... daughter of Michael and Angela Steffan... has one brother, Michael Jr., and two sisters, Emily and Katherine... has three first cousins who competed athletically at the collegiate level... Allison Walker ran Track & Field for Appalachian State and the University of Georgia-Athens, Margaret Anne Walker ran Track & Field at the University of Georgia-Athens, and Johnnie Walker Jr. played football at the University of Kentucky... she is considering majoring in Art History and minoring in Spanish at Berry.
