Women's Tennis Falls to Oglethorpe in SAA Championships

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Berry women's tennis team fell to the Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels 5-3 to close their season 8-9.


  • Mary Cerny fell to Caroline Johnson of Oglethorpe 4-6 and 6-7 (7-3) at No. 1-singles
  • Lauren Byrket took the 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2-singles over Hannah Dattilo.
  • Shannon Cruz beat Kelsey McCray at the No. 3 spot 0-6 and 1-6. 
  • Sydney Stone and Taylor Cranford went unfinished at the No. 4 spot. 
  • Ingrid Wilcox downed Sage Havrilla 6-2, 6-7 (7-9) and 3-6 at the No. 5 spot.
  • At No. 6-singles, Emmie Cornell fell to Delaney Abood 6-7 (5-7) and 6-7 (2-7)


  • Mary Cerny and Lauren Byrket won the No. 1-doubles spot 8-6
  • At No. 2-doubles, Kelsey McCray and Emmie Cornell fell 4-8 to Shannon Cruz and Taylor Cranford.
  • Sydney Stone and Sage Havrilla won 9-8 (8-6) over Halley Sickling and Ingrid Wilcox.


  • Lauren Byrket was selected to the All-Tournament team.
  • No. 4 singles went unfinished.
