Shaun Williamson, who had previously built two successful lacrosse programs from scratch, was brought to Berry College in 2009 to accomplish the same task. He came to Berry following successful stints as the head women’s lacrosse coach at NCAA Division II Belmont Abbey College and Lees-McRae College--both in North Carolina.

Williamson enters his third season at Berry College in 2013 coming off a 9-5-1 record, which brings Williamson’s record at Berry to 17-12-1, and his career record to 65-58-1. Williamson's offense was the 2nd ranked Scoring Offense in Division III scoring 17.73 goals per game.  Berry’s Defense finished the season ranked 10th in Division III in caused turnover with 10.87 per game.  Berry also finished 11th nationally in Draw Controls winning 16.33 draws per game.   

Coach Williamson had the pleasure to coach statistical juggernaut Senior Jenny Miller.  Miller finished her senior season ranked nationally in the following categories:  points per game 6th(6.47), goals per game 7th(5.13),goals 13th (77), total points 29th (97), caused turnovers 30th (2.13 per) tied with teammate Blair Shupenko, draw controls 42nd (5.07) and ground balls 59th (3.60 per).  Miller was also named to the IWLCA North/South Senior Game played in Downingtown, Penn.  

Sophomore Kristan Dziurzynski was right on her heels in the offensive categories. Dziurzynski finished her sophomore campaign ranked nationally in goals per game 8th (4.87), points per game 13th (6.27), goals 21st (73) and points 33rd (94).

In Williamson's first season at Berry, the Vikings got the program moving in the right direction finishing with a winning record of 8-7.  Six starters were soccer players that began playing lacrosse in January of 2011.

Prior to arriving at Berry, Williamson spent four seasons at Belmont Abbey College, building the program from the ground-up. He finished with a 42-32 record, highlighted by a 2009 season in which his team put together an overall record of 14-5, and a 2008 season in which Belmont Abbey went 12-7 overall and a finished with at No. 10 in the final national poll. Both seasons ended with Belmont Abbey as the Conference Carolinas runner-up.

While at Belmont Abbey, Williamson developed 3 IWLCA All-Americans, 7 IWLCA Regional All-American selections, 14 All-Conference (11 first team) award winners and 1 Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year. The 2009 Abbey Squad was named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Merit Squad with third highest team grade point average in Division II. The 2007 and 2008 squads were named IWLCA Academic Honor Squads with the fifth highest GPA. Williamson coached five Academic All-Americans and 13 Academic All-Conference award winners.

In 2008, womenslacrosse.com named Williamson its Division II Coach of the Year. 

Prior to Williamson's arrival at Belmont Abbey he started the program at his alma mater, Lees-McRae College in North Carolina. Williamson spent two seasons at Lees-McRae, with a record of 6-14 overall.

 Williamson served as a member of the NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse National Committee from 2003 until 2007, and was the committee chair form 2005-2007. Williamson has also served on several IWLCA committees.  Currently serving on the IWLCA Awards Committee as well as the Women’s Lacrosse Chair for the SAA.

Williamson earned a Masters in Sports Management/Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from California University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree in History from Lees-McRae College.

As a student-athlete at Lees-McRae, Williamson was a three-year starter and letter winner at attack on the lacrosse team.
