Women's Lacrosse Drops Road Contest to Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Vikings were unable to overcome five first-half goals by Greensboro as they opened the season with an 8-6 loss on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Berry drew first blood with Keiley Ayers notching the first goal of the season less than two minutes into the first half. 
  • Greensboro ended up outscoring Berry 5-3 in the opening period.
  • Each team scored three goals apiece to close out the game, with Berry coming up short despite much improved defensive play.
  • The Vikings were edged in draw controls (5-10) and turnovers (16-13) in the loss.
  • Ella Makin saw 17 shots and was able to pull down nine saves
  • Both teams picked up 13 ground balls
