Vikings Fall in SAA Semifinals

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Kristan Dziurzynski scored three goals, but Berry College lost to Sewanee, 15-6, in a Southern Athletic Association semifinal match on Saturday.

Berry ends its year at 8-9. UOS improved to 12-6 and will play in the SAA championship on Sunday.

Sara Witten tallied twice and Taylor Martin had seven saves for BC.

The Vikings trailed 7-3 at halftime. The visitors kept it close in the second half. Dziurzynski's goal on a free position shot cut the deficit to 9-6 with 24:42 remaining. BC, however, got no closer.

The Tigers led in shots (31-19) and ground balls (27-16). Yet Berry had a 13-10 edge in draw controls.

Ellie Murphy netted a game-best five goals for Sewanee.
