ROME, Ga. -- Kristan Dziurzynski scored five goals and dished one assist as Berry College women's lacrosse defeated Birmingham-Southern, 16-12, in a Southern Athletic Association quarterfinal match on Saturday.

Junior goalkeeper Taylor Martin tied a season-high with 13 saves for the home team.

That's the best Taylor has played in her time at Berry," said BC Head Coach Shaun Williamson. "I'm really proud of her."

Claire Rosenberg had two goals and three assists for the Vikings. Lizzy Jones had three goals and one helper. Sara Witten scored and assisted twice.

Berry improved to 8-8 and advances to next Friday's semifinals. The Panthers end their year at 5-9.

BC led the entire first half and held an 8-6 advantage at the break. The Panthers, however, rallied and led 12-10 with 16:06 left in regulation.

The Vikings then scored the game's last six tallies for the final margin. BSC led in shots (35-28) and ground balls. The home team led in draw controls, 18-12.

Amanda Amerson led BSC with seven goals and one assist.

The Vikings play at Sewanee on Saturday in a SAA semifinal match.

"Sewanee took care of business when we played earlier this year," said Williamson. "But we beat them last year at their place. We're looking forward to the challenge."
