JACKSON, Miss. – Leading 7-6 at halftime, Berry's women's lacrosse team lost, 17-14, against Millsaps on Saturday afternoon. Kristan Dziurzynski led Berry with seven goals and two assists.
Berry fell to 6-6 overall and 2-2 in Southern Athletic Association matchups. Millsaps improved to 4-5 and 1-2.
Dziurzynski scored with 1:19 remaining in the first half to give Berry a 7-6 advantage. In the second half, Millsaps broke away with five unanswered goals at one point to go ahead, 14-9.
In addition to Dziurzynski, Claire Rosenberg tallied five goals for Berry. JB Page had four goals and five assists, and Alex Morphew picked up two goals and an assist for Millsaps.
Making her debut as starting goalkeeper, Elizabeth Flatt played the first half. Taylor Martin finished the game in goal and took the loss for Berry. Millsaps' Madelyn Walker earned the win and had 14 saves.
Berry edged Millsaps in shots, 31-28, and Millsaps edged Berry in groundballs, 30-19.
The Vikings will return to action on Tuesday night against LaGrange College. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. in LaGrange, Ga.
