Lady Vikings in Eighth Place After Opening Round of Lady Crusaders Spring Invitational

Chelsea Hoag shot a 90 Monday to lead Berry's women's golf team on the first day of the Mary Hardin-Baylor Lady Crusaders Spring Invitational in Belton, Texas.

The Lady Vikings are in eighth place heading into Tuesday's final round.

Hoag is tied for 33rd place, 17 strokes behind the leader, Morgan Dockery of Oklahoma Christian. 

Berry's Nicole Wood is in 38th place, two strokes behind Hoag at 92, while teammate Lauren Buschhorn shot 97 and is tied for 44th. 

Cady Clark rounded out the Lady Vikings scores with a first-round 98 and is tied for 46th.  Berry's Lacey Sheppard withdrew.

Western Texas sits atop the team leaderboard after firing a 306.  Oklahoma Christian is just one stroke behind, while Wayland Baptist (311), Mary Hardin-Baylor (333) and Oklahoma Baptist (337) round out the top five.
