MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Head women's basketball coach Thomas Johnson has announced the eight newcomers to join the Vikings for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
"We are really excited about these incoming freshmen and our transfer," Johnson said. "I think they will add value to our program as people and definitely looking forward to their contributions on the court."
Brief bios on each of the newcomers can be found below.
(Post, Johns Creek, Ga., Johns Creek High School)
The daughter of Sandra and Vince Pastorello, Mackenzie joins the Vikings after a two-sport career at Johns Creek where she competed in cross country and basketball. She holds the record for blocks at JCHS in addition to being named an All-Star player during her senior year. A two-time "Most Improved" post player, Bryan was also an active Special Olympics volunteer, FCA and Beta Club member.
Bryan plans on majoring in Marketing/Sports Communication with a Business minor at Berry.
(Forward, Dacula, Ga., Mill Creek High School)
Bolling comes to Berry after leading her team to four state playoff appearances including a region title and an Elite Eight appearance as a senior. A four-time Scholar Athlete Award winner, Bolling was an active member of the National Society of High School Scholars in addition to graduating with honors.
The daughter of Debra and Tony Bolling, Alex plans on majoring in Exercise Science at Berry.
(Guard, Ringgold, Ga., Ringgold High School)
A two-sport athlete in basketball and softball, Dale joins the Vikings as a two-time All-Region selection. She also helped her team to a Regional Title and a North Sub-Region Championship. She averaged 7.2 points, 3.4 assists and 2.4 steals per game out of high school. Dale also holds the Ringgold steals record with 277 in her career.
The daughter of Kim Tran and Robert Dale, Kiana plans on majoring in Education at Berry. She will also join her brother, Slade Dale, in silver and blue this fall. Slade is a two-sport athlete at Berry competing in football and baseball.
(Forward, Peachtree Corners, Ga., Wesleyan School)
The daughter of Lillian and Demetrius Frazier, Capri joins Berry after a strong career at Wesleyan leading her team to two state titles. Also a two-sport athlete in basketball and track and field, Frazier also helped the Wesleyan track and field team to a Region Championship in 2015.
Frazier is undecided on her major at Berry.
(Guard, Ringgold, Ga., Union University)
A transfer from Division II Union University, Lewis joins Berry after competing in 20 games for the Lady Bulldogs last season. She had a strong career at Silverdale Baptist Academy as a prep, earning All-Region honors for three seasons in addition to setting the school record for three-pointers made with 113 in her junior year. She hit 352 three-pointers in her career with a 41% shooting percentage. Lewis led the team in blocks and steals during her final three seasons and scored 1,607 career points at Silverdale Baptist.
The daughter of Sheri and Robin Lewis, Megan is undecided on her major at Berry.
(Guard, Cartersville, Ga., Cass High School)
Morning joins the Vikings after a four-year career at Cass High School where she scored over 1,100 points, averaged 17.2 points, 4.1 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game during her senior year. She was a three-time All-County Team selection and a two-time Daily Tribune News Bartow County Player of the Year. Also a three-time All-Region selection, Morning was also a decorated cross country and soccer athlete.
The daughter of Lupé and James Morning Jr., Jana plans on majoring in Marketing/Management with a minor in Communication at Berry.
(Forward, Pensacola, Fla., West Florida High School of Advanced Technology )
Radford will attend Berry after leading her team to three straight state playoff appearances in her career. She was also named the MVP of Subway's annual Senior All-Star game during her senior campaign. Averaging 8.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest, Radford also earned multiple Academic Excellence Awards.
The daughter of Adria Williams and David Radford, Chloe plans on majoring in Pre-Law at Berry.
(Guard, Alpharetta, Ga., Johns Creek High School)
The daughter of Tiffany and Larry Tanguilig, Sydney comes to Berry after a three-sport career at Johns Creek. Also competing in track and field and cross country, Tanguilig was a two-time first-team All-Region selection and was a two-time team MVP. She holds the Johns Creek records for most career points, highest three-point percentage and most three-pointers made.
Tanguilig plans on majoring in Animal Science at Berry.
