Women's Basketball Earns First SAA Win Against Centre, 53-47

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Alex Weems scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Berry College women’s basketball team defeated Centre College 53-47 on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Colonels were ahead at halftime, 21-17.
  • The Vikings then outscored Centre in both of the final two quarters, sealing the victory.
  • Berry shot 38-percent (19-of-50) to Centre’s 32.2-percent (19-of-59).
  • The Vikings also led the game in rebounds (43-35), while the Colonels finished ahead in blocks (5-0), steals (10-7) and assists (11-10).

  • Weems: 15 points, 8 REB, 4-for-13 FGM, 7-for-12 FTM
