Women's Basketball Falls at Hendrix 58-34

CONWAY, Ark. – Alex Weems led the team with the only double-digit performance of the night as the Berry College women’s basketball team fell to Hendrix College, 58-34 on Friday. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Warriors outscored the Vikings in all four quarters, holding Berry to less than 10 points in three of them.
  • Hendrix also shot 32.8-percent (21-of-64) to Berry’s 30-percent (30-of-50).
  • The Vikings led the game in blocks (4-3), while the Warriors led in nearly every other offensive category, including rebounds (42-38), steals (14-6) and assists (17-11).

  • Weems: 11 points, 5-for-12 FG, 1-for-2 FTM, 5 REB, 2 BLK
  • Rosie Lynch: 8 points, 3-for-9 FG, 1-for-5 3PM, 7 REB, 2 STL, 2 AST
  • Nia Smith: 7 points, 3-for-10 FG, 1-for-2 3PM, 3 REB, 3 STL, 2 AST

HENDRIX STATISTICAL STANDOUTS:

  • Sara Dyslin: 23 points, 9-for-14 FG, 5-for-6 FTM, 11 REB
  • Madison Martin: 12 points, 5-for-11 FG, 2-for-2 FTM, 6 REB, 1 BLK
  • Heather Prowse: 12 REB, 4 AST, 6 STL

NOTABLES:

  • Weems remains fifth in the Southern Athletic Association in points per game, averging 12.9.
  • With the loss, the Vikings drop to 8-11 and 2-6 on the season.
  • Hendrix improves to 10-9 and 4-4.
