Women's Basketball Flies Past Colonels 67-42

DANVILLE, Ky. – The Vikings women's basketball team completed the season sweep of Centre on Sunday afternoon with a 67-42 victory. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

•  The Vikings were solid in field goal percentage leading with 49.1 percent to the Colonel's 27.6 percent

• The Vikings nailed seven three pointers, led by Kristin Rampersad's 4-7 from beyond the arc.

• The Colonels led in the first quarter, but the Vikings held their ground and outscored Centre for the rest of the game including a 21-7 second period and a 22-8 fourth quarter.

• The Vikings stayed in the game on the boards, leading 41-34 in rebounding.

Kristin Rampersad: 19 points, 6-for-12 FG, 4-for-7 3FG, AST

Alex Weems: 12 points, 5-for-11 FG, 5 REB, AST

• ValerieMcLure: 12 points, 5-for-7 FG, 11 REB, 4 AST

Ashley McKee: 12 points, 5-for-9 FG, 5 REB, 3 STL

CENTRE STATISTICAL STANDOUTS:

• Abigail Stewart: 10 points, 4-for-4 FG, 5 rebounds

• Lauren Moore: 7 points, 3-for-5 FG, 5 rebounds

• Olivia Schad: 5 points, 1-for-7 FG, 1 3FG, 2 rebounds

NOTABLES:

• Berry is now 9-13 and 3-8 in the SAA.

• McClure's double-double was her first since Feb. 6, 2015 against Birmingham-Southern

Ashley McKee added a new career-high with 12 points
