Herring and Stoll Tabbed All-Region

ROME, Ga. -- Kristen Stoll and Lacey Herring were named all-region by the National Fastptich Coaches Association (NFCA). Both were picked to the Atlanic Region third team.

A senior first baseman, Stoll was fifth in the Southern Athletic Association in both hitting (.404) and RBI (40). She hit 12 doubles and stole 8-8 bases. Stoll, who earned all-region recognition for the third straight season, graduated cum laude from Berry on Saturday.

Herring, a senior second baseman, led the team and was third in the SAA with a .413 batting average. She was second in the conference with 45 RBI and stole 16-17 stolen bases. Herring closed her softball career at Berry, but plans to join the women's basketball team next season.

Herring and Stoll both played the first four years of the BC softball program. The Vikings finished 2013 with a 29-11 overall record and went 17-5 in conference. Berry won an outright SAA regular season championship, and set a program benchmark for wins.
