MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Berry College Cross Country teams will be traveling to Newport News, Va., to compete in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championship. Hosted by Christopher Newport University, the meet serves as a qualifier for NCAA Cross Country Nationals. Top 2 teams qualify automatically, with the top 7 runners of each race also qualifying.

The race will feature teams from the Southern Athletic Association (SAA), the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and several schools representing other conferences. Both races will feature schools from Texas to Kentucky.

Current rankings have the Berry women's team at ninth. Both teams look to improve significantly on times after taking 3rd at the SAA Conference Meet.

“NCAA Regionals is a championship race," Head Coach Paul Deaton said. “It demands one’s best, which is what we hope for.”

The men’s race will be at 11:00 a.m. with the women’s at 12:15 p.m. Updates can be found on twitter @BerryXCTF.
